#sound of the elevator opening #blair walks: what are you doing here? #dan comes out of the elevator #don’t wait starts to play #gg says something #i don’t know is serena here?#no what’s going on is everything okay? #i’ve been walking around the city all night with one all consuming paralyzing thought #why am i walking around the city when i live in brooklyn? #what if my dad and dorota were right #what if there’s another reason we’re keeping us a secret? #another reason like what? #plausible deniability #blair we kept us a secret (pause) cause we were afraid there was something more #you need to go back to brooklyn #(with her nervous slash scared slash wtf are you saying dan let’s not go there but let’s go there) #not until i know for sure they were wrong #that there is nothing between us #i can guarantee it #dan steps closer #places his hand on her shoulder and she glances at his hand #but just so you’re secure in that knowledge (she’s looking at him again) #what did you have in mind? #just one kiss then we can know without a doubt#blair looks at him and contemplates for 2 seconds #i suppose that would work #one kiss that’s that #one kiss and that’s that #so? #so… swallows the lump in her throat and waits

#because somewhere along the unseen dair moments blair confided in dan telling him of her bulimic past #she trusted him enough to tell him one of her darkest secrets #and dan truly cares about her that at the slightest sign of her being bulimic again he wants to help her out #im fine #its ok its fine 

#one of the most underrated moments within a moment #and one among many that render the idea of dan only knowing the sunshine and daisies of blair ridiculous #it’s in the details #he noticed the details #he saw her #not whatever part of her was convenient for him #not whatever part of her he could use to convince himself that they were ~mean2b or epic #he didn’t reduce her to just being dark!blair or light!blair #he didn’t reduce her to a concept #and lord knows no one was more prejudiced against blair at the outset than dan humphrey #so tell me again how he doesn’t know her ~dark side #because i need a laugh
