top five television pairings:
→ ONE: JAMES ‘SAWYER’ FORD & KATE AUSTEN

“For Sawyer.”

Kate and Sawyer were the greatest love story I’ve ever seen in a TV show. They make my heart ache so bad and not because they weren’t endgame - oh well - but because they were the most beautiful thing ever written. Their connection showed right away. Two flawed, broken people, whose past paralleled from the beggining, both getting their seconds chances in the island. Second chances to actually care about people, to stop being so damn selfish and seeking revenge all the time. But there’s the trick on Skate’s relationship: they were there, together, destined, to remind each other who they really were. How damaged and disgusting they really were. Everytime she felt something for Sawyer, she knew that she’d never be good. That she’d never have anything good. But still, she was there. Taking care of him, wiping the sweat off his face, giving him medicine and whispering in his ear how he’d be okay. Sawyer says they’d never change their stripes, meaning they’d always be hurting each other, but still he acts on sacrifice to save her life, time and time again. So they were both each other’s link to whom they were off-island and also helped each other get that second chance so well-deserved.

They never had to pretend with each other. That’s another thing I love so much about them. Kate tried to please Jack, to make him believe that she was whatever he wanted to be. Their relationship (Jate’s) began with Kate lying about who she was, and she wasn’t even willing to tell him the truth anytime soon ‘cause she didn’t want to be judged. When Sawyer asked her if she’d ever killed a man, she knew she could be honest, because there was a man who was as flawed as she was, who would never look down at her. I could go on and on about their similarities and their connection, and how it helped them to grow. But to speak strictly about their love story, God, it was a story of passion, devotion, caring. Of sacrifice and loneliness and when they were together, they just knew they were home. That they would never be complete without each other.

I could talk and talk and talk about Lost’s end and all of it, but honestly, they not being post-life endgame doesn’t diminishes the slightest thing of their epic journey. Kate came back for Sawyer, she was doing everything for Sawyer, trying to mend her broken heart for Sawyer, and yes (I’m gonna repeat myself) she did love Jack, she loved Jack so much and she wanted to become a better person for Jack, but what she felt for Sawyer was beyond that. And I can’t even start to talk about Sawyer’s side of the relationship. He took her the hell way of that island like he promised he would. And GAHHH THEY’RE SO EPIC I just can’t. Kate and Sawyer will forever be my number one OTP. And I honestly don’t mind Jack/Kate or Sawyer/Juliet for all that matters because I know that nothing, NOTHING, can compare to what Skate had.
